An expansion pessary to effect a reversible closure of the uterine end of (Fallopian) tubes consists of at least two parts. The inner part is a small rod of rigid plastic material, with a bulbous forward end and two inclined spreaders at the other end. The outerpart is a sleeve of soft and elastic plastic material with four sawtooth-shaped collars. Such a pessary causes no damage to the tube walls and cannot be grown over. Peristaltic movements cannot eject it. |
