A reflector comprises a sheet of white polyvinyl chloride, wood, hardboard, paper, metal, fabric or other fibrous material to which is applied a coating of white polyvinyl chloride paint, a coating of white acrylic paint, a layer of light reflecting beads, and a covering layer of a translucent, clear or tinted plastics material. The reflector is used for example on road marker cones, clothing, or car cushions adapted to be supported in frames so as to provide a warning of a stationary vehicle. The reflector sheet may be applied to the interior surface of a transparent road marker cone and be held in place by means of tongues projecting inwardly from the upper and lower edges of the cone or by an inner cone of foam rubber. Alternatively, the reflector may be formed as a sleeve which is placed over the cone. The cone itself is made of resilient material. |
