摘要 PURPOSE:To increase a magnetic optical effect without decreasing the quantity of reflection light, and also to easily provide a guide track, by forming an amorphous magnetic body on the upper film surface of a reflection layer, crystallizing a part of the amorphous magnetic body, and roviding the guide track. CONSTITUTION:On a substrate 1 of glass, etc., a vertical magnetizing film of an amorphous ferrimagnetic material such as GdTbFe, etc. is formed, on which a transparent dielectric film 4 such as SiO2, etc. is formed and moreover, a reflection film 5 such as Al, Ag, etc. is formed on the film 4. This recording element consisting of 4 layer structure is made to adhere to the reflection film 5 through an adhering layer 6 on a supporting body 7 such as glass, etc. A guide track 2 is formed by heating a guide track part 2 of an amorphous magnetic material film to a crystallization temperature or above by an Ar laser, etc., crystallizing it, and lowering the reflection factor. A recording temperature of the magnetic material film is about 100-150 deg.C, is lower than a crystallization temperature (about 350 deg.C, and thermal recording (bit 8) is formed in a recording track 3 repeatedly. As for a reproducing light beam, its S/N ratio is increased since the Kerr effect by reflection from the magnetic body surface is combined with the Faraday effect caused by the fact that said light beam passes through the magnetic material film, and passes through said film over again by the reflection layer 5.
