PURPOSE:To decrease a spacing loss remarkably, by temporarily joining a substrate and a protective plate, polishing the sliding surface, and after that, separating them, forming a thin film magnetic substance and a conductive material on the substrate side, and after that, joining the protective plate. CONSTITUTION:A protective plate 5 is temporarily joined with a nonmagnetic substance substrate 2 by use of an adhesive agent 10, and the sliding surface against a magnetic recording medium is polished. Subsequently, the protective plate 5 is detached from the substrate 2, is washed, and after that, a thin film magnetic substance 3, for instance, of 80% Ni-Fe alloy, etc. is formed on the substrate 2 by a thin film deposition method. After that, a conductive material such as Al , etc. to be connected to both ends of the magnetic substance 3 is formed, and after that, the protective plate 5 is joined with the substrate 2 by use of an adhesive agent. In the end, tape lapping is performed lightly and the sliding surface is prepared, by which a magnetic head is completed. In this way, no unevenness is caused on the end of the magnetic substance 3 of the sliding surface, a spacing loss against the magnetic recording medium surface is decreased, and it is possible to obtain a head which is excellent in a frequency characteristic and large in an magnetic field. |
