A transmission line consists of wires (4) attached to metallic spreaders (5) in a plane at right angles to the transmission line to form the circular contours for the phases. Two inner circles form the contours for the first two phases (1,2). The third phase (3) is split into two half-phases on the outer spreaders, separated by insulators (6) from the inner spreaders. - The half-phases have one common wire (10) when they are arranged at the min. distance (S) that equals the sum of the radii of the outer circles. The overhead line is suspended by insulators (7) from gantry polls (8,9). The uprights (9) are placed outside the space, taken up by the phases and the necessary air gap. This line is suitable for high, superhigh and ultrahigh voltages. It has at least five times the carrying capacity of traditional lines of the same voltage.(1) |
