The adjustable thrust lever for a centreless bi-wheel rectifying machine has an adjustable spring (15) and a sliding counterweight (12) which enables the thrust on the workpiece (5) to be varied. It has two grinding wheels (2,3) which rotate on parallel axes, and the workpiec (5) is introduced between the two grinders on a static support (4). The tip (13) of a returned end (9) of the thrust lever (7) bears on the workpiece in opposition to the static support (4), and serves to press the workpiece (5) against the drive grinder (2). This pressure ensures that the workpiece is rotated and obtains a true finish from the rectifying grinder (3). The fulcrum (6) of the thrust lever locates behind the drive grinder (2) relative to the rectifying grinder (3), and the counterweight (12) locates on a lever extension (11) beyond the fulcrum.
