Appts. for transferring soft panels comprises an endless conveyer(3) having inclined discharge openings which extend downwardly and rearwardly from the upper surface. A suction device temporarily engages and raises the front end of a panel as it is advanced by the conveyer, whereby forward motion of the panel is arrested and it is discharged through the opening onto a table which is lowered as a stack of panels accumulates. The suction is discontinued as the opening passed below the suction head.
