The walls of the refrigerator are thermally insulated by a thickness of plastics foam formed in situ. Standard components are produced, each forming part of one of the walls and with steps formed in the foam along their lengthwise edges. At their ends a protruding rib is formed in the foam. The components are assembled together with their lengthwise edges fitting together, to form sealed walls. One standard component has two identical laterally offset bowl-shaped metal walls separated by a layer of plastic foam formed in situ. A second standard component comprises bowl-shaped metal walls of the same length and different widths, separated by a plastic foam layer formed in situ.
|
