PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a device, by storing a pattern of a two- dimensional picture, reading out its stored pattern, deriving the center of gravity of the picture, and deriving a feature pattern centering around the center of gravity in accordance with said center of gravity and a read-out pattern area. CONSTITUTION:A clock pulse from a timing circuit 21 is provided to X and Y address counters, 22, 23, and an address of a two-dimensional picture memory 25 is designated by the counters 22, 23. Also, a digital value which has read the two- dimensional picture from a picture input device 24 is stored in the memory 25, a pattern from this memory 25 is read out by address designation of the counters 22, 23, and its read-out pattern is provided to integrators 36, 37, 43 and 44, and a centroid calculating circuit 45. The center of gravity of a picture is calculated by this circuit 45, its calculated centroid is set to centroid X and Y address counters 27, 28, respectively, the vector quantity is derived by subtracting circuits 29, 30 and square-law operator 34, 35, 41 and 42, etc., and positive and negative ad dresses in the X and Y directions, respectively are outputted from the integrators 36, 37, 43 and 44. |
