A substrate is sandwiched between two outer covers. The substrate contains at least one sheet of cardboard, pref. 2 layers of cardboard sandwiching a layer of material other than cardboard. Pref. at least one outer covering is present of a thin sheet of wood, metal, or synthetic plastic. The panel is continuous and has a first phase of direct transfer of coverings on a band of cardboard with adhesive, and a second phase of pressing the plies.
