Orthopaedic fracture fixing devices with at least one elongate part (10, 11) located outside the patient which is or are connected to bone pins or bolts (12) or the like fixed in the different fragments of the fractured bone (13), the elongate part and the pins forming a rigid frame which retains the fragments in a desired position for growing together, were simplified but can nevertheless still be employed in changing configurations by the part being designed as an elongate carrier (10) of a flexible shape and charged with a curable material (11) which is normally held in an inactive flowable state in the carrier. The carrier expediently consists of a closed tube or a permeable hose containing the material or impregnated therewith. The material can be cured with radiation energy, such as heat or light, or by a chemical reaction, the latter case expediently comprising a tube which is subdivided into compartments by a tear-open wall containing appropriate constituents of a curable mixture. <IMAGE>
