PURPOSE:To attain to lighten an apparatus and to reduce power consumption thereof without decreasing a printing speed by a method wherein, when a number of a dot printed by one printing hammer is more than a predetemined value, dot printing in a line thereof is finished in one reciprocation to miniaturize a cooling apparatus of a coil for a printing hammer. CONSTITUTION:In a dot printing apparatus for printing two lines in one reciprocatin by reciprocating a dot printing head having a width for one line, a printing data code transmitted froman upper apparatus such as a CPU or the like is looked and dot printing informations in charge of each printing hammers are added and, if even one hammer printing a dot number more than a predetermined number, printing is stopped for a period of next one way motion. Therefore, because the hammer does not continue to operate reciprocally and continuously, a cooling apparatus of a coil for driving the printing hammer can be miniaturized. Further, when a genral character is printed, because an operation ratio of each hammer is at most 60% and does not exceed the aforementioned prodetermined number, a printing speed is not almost lowered. |
