PURPOSE:A cleaning agent for the oral cavity, containing palatinose as a cariogenicity inhibitor of sucrose, and usable in the form of a dentrifrice, chewing gum, mouth-wash, etc. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning agent for the oral cavity, containing palatinose of the formula. The palatinose itself is colorless, tasteless, low cariogenic and stable, and will not be easily hydrolyzed by an acid and fermented by ordinary microorganisms with improved storage stability, preferable sweetness, etc. Therefore, the palatinose has improved characteistics as a component of a cleaning agent for the oral cavity. In case the cleaning agent containing the palatinose is used, the formation of insoluble glucan from sucrose present ing the gap of the teeth and sordes on the teeth in the oral cavity is inhibited by the palatinose to reduce the sordes formation to be a cause of the caries. |
