A reciprocatory tool, e.g. a filing tool, includes a drive shaft 2 which carries an inclined rotatably. mounted crank-pin 5 to which there is attached at right angles a coupling pin 7; the coupling pin passes slidably through a swivel mounted bearing eye 8 disposed at the lower end of a bolt 9 which is attached in a radially offset position to the reciprocable part of the tool gripping head 11. Rotation of the shaft 2 reciprocates the bolt 9 and thereby the tool. The head 11 is angularly adjustable about its axis which is offset from that of the shaft 2 to effect relative displacement of the bearing eye along the coupling pin 7 with respect to the axis of the shaft 2, thereby adjusting the length of reciprocatory stroke. A detent 13 acts to retain the head 11 in adjusted positions. The tool may be powered by an electric, or, as shown, pneumatic motor 3 having a speed control knob 12. |
