U=shaped wall top ring beam form block - has upright arm not exceeding half wall thickness and base arm at 90 degrees to it

The form block for a ring beam is made from site concrete, and finishes the top end of a wall. It is esp. in the form of a U-shaped block made of porous brick. The block (6) is of double-shanked cross-sectional shape, with a standing shank for bricking onto the wall, in the usual way, and a formwork shank (8) at 90 deg. to this. The outside length of the latter is equal to, or less than half the walling thickness of a wall to be fitted with the ring beam. For easy production, storage and transport, the block can be made in half form, with two pieces linked by a fracture-point connectors extending between shanks.
