Two overlapping strips of sheet metal are interconnected on the underside by a rubber-elastic type strip of material vulcanised in place. They combine to provide compensation for expansion in metal building components connected by an expansion structure, esp. for building into roofs and other coverings. The open edges of the strips overlap and are soldered to the edges of the components. One strip (11') with its open edge overlapping and soldered to the adjacent edge of a component (1), covers the other strip (12') which is similarly attached to the other component (2), and also the adjoining peripheral area of this component.
