The engine has a rotary compressor which compresses a mixture of fuel and air. The mixture is admitted into cylinders in each of which it is ignited. The expansion of the gases opens a valve which admits the gases to a turbine. This provides the engine output. Each cylinder is jacketed by an evaporator chamber. The heat of combustion in the cylinder evaporates a mixture of water and alcohol in the chamber. The resulting vapour is added to the combustion gases as they flow into the turbine and this increases the output of the turbine.
