There is hydraulic aligning cylinder, between units, and a swivelling lever hinged to this, with one end guided in the striding direction on a sliding guideway on the seam floor sill. They are incorporated in an aligning and guiding assembly for advancing long face support units, esp. conveyor-bound support shields, in a mine. The lever (14) has the end facing away from the sliding guideway (15) connected to the other floor sill (10), in a fixed joint. The cylinder (13) is hinged between this floor sill and the lever, with its connecting hinge (21) on the lever between the lever ends. The lever may be able to swivel vertically as well as parallel to the floor plane.
