The noise-clamping housing is for a fired heat source, there being an intervening space between the source and housing. The walls (19), in which there are apertures (20), of passages (18) enclose the intervening space (18), typically all the way round. Where the passages form rectangular chambers, the width and height of each and the width and height of the opening can be equal to the width of the intervening space, while its walls can be of noise-absorbent material.
