Cine projector with continuous moving film - has rotating mirror array and shutter for flyback scan

The continuously moving film (2) is illuminated by a fixed light (1) and reflected from a first mirror (4) moving synchronous with the film. Two mirrors (6) moving at half the speed reflect the image onto a fixed mirror (7) and to the lens (9). A rotating shutter (8) between the last mirror and the lens provides the dark parts of the cycle to allow the first mirror to flyback. The film drive is simplified and interlocked with the mirror drive. The rotating mirrors are on profiled cams so that a continuous rotation can be used. The projector is silent and low cost and avoids damage to the film.
