An overcap for a pressurized dispensing container 10 comprises a body 16 of molded plastics material having a tab 26 which, when moved laterally inwardly, causes a hub 32 to engage and depress a discharge stem 12 communicating with directional discharge passages in the hub. Hinge means 30, 31, 34 which comprise areas of reduced thickness in the material of the tab 26 allow lateral pivotal movement of the tab portion 28. When escape of the container contents is required to be at an angle to the axis of the discharge stem 12 a recess 40 is provided in the body 16. In another embodiment, Fig. 8, hinge means 42, comprising a cut-out 43, connects the tab 26 to the hub 32. |
