摘要 <p>A fusible element for use in electrical fuses comprises (a) a support of a monofilament yarn of glass quartz fibre, having (b) a metallic alloy coating of Ag, Cu, Sn and Sb on its outer surface. The coating alloy is pref. 71-73 wt.% Ag, 22-24% Cu, 2-4% Sn and 1-3% Sb. The element is useful in conventional fuse cartridges having rate currents of 1-250mA. It is stable and durable, the support having a much higher m.pt. than conventional plastic supports and the coating having higher m.pt. (875 deg.C) and recrystallisation temp. (245 deg.C). than the conventional low melting alloys (150, 20 deg.C respectively). There is little variation of rated current with ambient temp., as shown by a graph.</p>
