A solar collector comprises an absorber through which the heat-carrying fluid flows and is located between supporting and covering elements. The absorber is of capillary foil of elastic material and is supported spaced between a radiation resistant cover, of glass clarity and a heat-reflecting support which has at least one rib supporting the foil; the support is pref of aluminium deep-drawn foil and has a lightweight thermal insulator behind it, more specifically a closed-cell rigid polyurethane foam. The capillary foil constituting the absorber is pref. clamped firmly between the support and lightweight wedges, at its edges in the region of the feed and return lines. Arrangement of solar collector cell is corrosion-resistant and can operate with demineralised water involving no freezing problems The capillary foil is pref. of a pigmented silicone rubber. |
