A plaster-carrying facade structure formed from panel-shaped structural elements (4, 4') is secured on a load-bearing structure wall (1), preferably at a distance therefrom. The aim is to be able to fit a facade structure of this type on structure walls, even subsequently, while ensuring good heat-insulation properties and elimination of moisture which diffuses outwards through the structure wall, but preventing the penetration of precipitation moisture from the outside inwards. In order to achieve this, the invention provides, as plaster carriers, panel-shaped structural elements (4, 4') which are produced from ceramic material and are set in rows one above the other and one next to the other, the plaster carriers have cavities (5) which are aligned in the vertical direction and, at least at the lower and at the upper end of the facade structure, are in connection with the external air, the plaster carriers are fitted together with ground bearing and joint surfaces (7), and the bearing and joint surfaces (7) of the plaster carriers are sealed with a water-tight and vapour-tight material. <IMAGE>
