A procedure and a device for marking valuable documents, i.e. banknotes (12) stored in an anti-theft chamber such as a container (10) during an attempt at theft by means of finely pigmented paint. There are two separate canisters (14) inside the container for respective storage of the two components (22, 24) - containing, among other things, a resin substance or similar designed to form a two-component paint. At least the one canister is equipped with an actuating device (16) that is arranged so that the component stored in the canister is pressed out at high pressure to a mixing chamber (28) when the container exposed to damage or conditions for which it is not intended. The chamber has connections with fine holes or channels (34) through which the mixed, two-component paint can be pressed out, also under high pressure, to mark the said valuable documents. Most appropriately, the canister should consist of a cylinder and the actuating device of a plunger in the cylinder that is propelled forward by a powder charge (18).<IMAGE> |
