The container has upwardly diverging sides and an edge flange. It is formed from a blank comprising a bottom (1), two opposite short sides (2,3) having a joining tongue (20) for projecting above the upper edge (12) of the container cup to be formed, two opposite long sides (4,5) and corner pieces (15) arranged to be folded in and to be secured between the short sides (2,3) and the projecting long side portions (14). The corner pieces (15) are formed to terminate at least partially below the level of the upper edge (12) of the container cup, and for interconnecting and sealing of the container cup strings (26,28;29) of glue, wax, hot-melt or a similar substance are provided so as to prevent the packed goods from oozing out between any portions of the container. |
