PURPOSE:To use a magnetic tape in its reciprocating motion, by forming a track by which a control data is recorded at the upper and lower symmetriccal positions against the center in the width direction of a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:On a magnetic tape 1, 8 data tracks TD1-TD8 are formed. Along the upper and lower edges of the magnetic tape 1, tracks TA1, TA2 in which an analog signal is recorded are formed so that the 8 data tracks TD1-TD8, a control track TC and a time code track TT are positioned between the analog tracks TA1 and TA2. In this case, the TC is positioned at the upper side of the center of the magnetic tape 1 so that the TD1-TD4 are positioned between the TA1 and the TC, and the TT is positioned at the lower side of the center of the magnetic tape 1 so that the TD5-TD8 are positioned between this TT and the TA2. In this way, the magnetic tape is used in its reciptrocating motion. |
