<p>PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic recording medium of superior repetitive running stability and strength by coating magnetic paint contg. a binder consisting of a polyester resin, nitrocellulose protected with a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer, and polyisocyanate on backing. CONSTITUTION:(A)40-80wt% polyester resin and (B)60-20wt% nitrocellulose impregnated with and protected by a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer are mixed, and (C) further polyisocyanate of 5-20wt% based on the total resin weight are compounded whereby a binder is prepd. Thence, this binder and magnetic powder such as gamma-Fe2O3 are mixed to prepare magnetic paint. The resultant magnetic paint is coated on backing such as polyester film, whereby the intended magnetic recording medium is obtained.</p> |
