TOOL PARTS HAVING SOFT PROJECTION

摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent a substrate from break and damage by a method wherein mild projections lower in hardness than the substrate is formed uniformly on the surface of the substrate and the impact given by turning is dampered by the mild projections. CONSTITUTION:After a grinding tip of sintered alloy composed of ultra hard alloy or cermet is cleaned fully, metallic Ni is evaporated on the surface of the tip through a net by means of the spattering method and this evaporated metal is held in Ar-H2 gas and then cooled to obtain tool parts. A mild projection consisting mainly of nickel having a height of about 2mum, a diameter of about 5phi-7phimum is formed on the surface of this tool. The impact given by turning through the mild projection is dampered and can prevent the substrate from break and damage.
