PURPOSE:To diminish the weight of a cutter exceedingly in comparison with a steel cutter and to prevent breaks or oscillation thereof from occurring by means of centrifugal force in milling by a method wherein a milling cutter body is made up of aluminum or its alloy. CONSTITUTION:A body 1 of aluminum or its alloy is provided with a hole 11 into which the outer periphery part of a steel member 3 having a machine tool fixing mechanism in its middle part is inserted and a hole 12 to insert the collar part of the member 3. Notched cavities for inserting a steel member 2 having a tip 4 fixing mechanism composed of walls 13, 13' in which their widths are enlarged in the radial direction of the cutter and toward the side of the shaft hole and walls 14, 15 formed according to the fitting angle of a throw away tip 4 and tip dischrging grooves 16 and the like are constituted at intended places on the side of the outer periphery. |
