The wire gauze fly screen comprises a rectangular gauze sheet with fixing devices detachably securing it to the frame round the opening to be covered. The devices consist of two or more sets each of two tubes telescoping together (7,8) and whose degree of relative movement is limited. One tube in each set is secured to the gauze (5), and they have retaining bracket (11) protruding through the latter to the other side, where they form finger grips, and also engage behind the frame when thrust apart by internal springs.
