[Also in Division Cl] In order to obtain, simultaneously, a plurality of reduced copies of an original 6, an optical fibre bundle 5 having planar end faces is provided be- tween the original and photo-sensitive material. Each optical fibre is made of glass having a refractive index distribution in a cross-section thereof which satisfies ' n = n o (1 - ar<SP>2</SP>) where n o is the refractive index at the centre point of the cross-section, n is the refractive index at a distance r from the centre point, and a is a positive constant. Each optical fibre transmits a reduced image along itself to the photosensitive material which may contact one end-face or be spaced therefrom by a glass plate (10), Fig. 3 (not shown) or by an air-gap. A lens may be inserted between the original and the nearest end-face thereto. The original is reduced to 1/500th size, and the array of images obtained may be used to give an array of integrated circuits. |
