PURPOSE:To improve cleaning effect by disposing a non-magnetic cylindrical sleeve freely rotatably opposite to the surface of a material layer, and providing a permanent magnet having magnetic poles extending axially in said sleeve in a static state. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical sleeve 3 consisting of a non-magnetic material is provided opposite to a photosensitive drum 1 rotating in the arrow direction shown in the figure, in such a way that it rotates in the direction opposite from that of the drum. A permanent magnet 4 having magnetic poles extending axially is provided in the sleeve 3 in the position opposite to the drum, in a static state. A belt-like member 5 consisting of a porous elastic material is continuously wound and fixed on the outside circumferential surface of the non-magnetic sleeve in such a way that the part excluding at least one end of the sleeve is wound spirally. According to such constitution, if the magnetic toner 2 on the drum approaches to the sleeve 3 on rotating of the drum 1, the toner 2 is attracted onto the sleeve 3 by the magnetic attraction force of the magnet 4, and is wiped off mechanically efficiently from the drum 1 by the contact of the member 5 and the drum 1. |
