PURPOSE:To provide an enhanced power for an internal combustion engine equipped with a turbocharger by overlapping a turning power of an exhaust turbine on a turning power of a drive shaft of the engine. CONSTITUTION:An internal combustion engine 1 is supplied with an exhaust manifold 2, a combustion chamber 3, an axial flow exhaust turbine 4, a gear train 5 and a drive shaft 6. An exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold 2 is fed to a combustor 3, an annular combustion chamber 7 and the turbine 4, which powers a turbine wheel 12 to turn. A turning power of a turbine shaft 11 is transmitted to the drive shaft 6 via gears 26, 23, 22. On the other hand, a turning power of an engine drive shaft 28 is transmitted to the drive shaft 6 via gears 27, 22. A combination power of the engine and the turbine is given to the drive shaft, thereby intensifying a driving power. |
