PURPOSE:To facilitate the print control of a printer which controls printing operation by detecting print width, by detecting the print width easily by detecting form width by a tractor. CONSTITUTION:Position detection information on a tractor position sent from form-width detection mechanisms 5 and 6 is inputted to a hammer drive control part 10 which drives a hammer only at a corresponding digit by detecting the width of a form by a form-width detection part 9. Print data from a central processor 14, on the other hand, is stored temporarily through a data-transission-number adding circuit 13. the print data storage area of a print data buffer 11 wherein the print information is stored temporarily corresponding to a print digit is varied automatically on the basis of the detected form width. Therefore, a print corresponding to the form width is enabled exclusively. |
