PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium having good weatherability, high sensitivity and good signal quality by passing vapor contg. tellurium and selenium through a gaseous atmosphere contg. NXOY converted to plasma, thereby forming a recording layer essentially consisting of the tellurium and selenium as well as nitrogen on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:This recording medium is so formed to have at least the substrate 1 and the recording layer 21 which is partly selectively removed by laser light to record information and is formed on the substrate 1. The vapor contg. the tellurium and selenium is passed through the gas contg. NXOY converted to plasma by high-frequency electric power, by which the recording layer 21 essentially consisting of the tellurium and selenium as well as nitrogen is formed. Since the recording layer 21 is essentially formed of the tellurium and selenium as well as nitrogen in such a manner, the optical recording medium having the good weatherability and high sensitivity for the signal of good quality is obtd. |
