Casting of molten metal in pressurised chambers - where one chamber contains tiltable induction melting furnace, from which metal flows via trough to mould located in autoclave

A chamber provided with a lid contains an induction furnace which can be tilted on a horizontal axis; and on one outer wall of chamber is a horizontal tube, which can be connected via bayonet couplings and shutter valves to an autoclave contg. a mould. Inside the tube is a horizontal trough, which is driven longitudinally so it enters the autoclave. When the furnace is tilted, the molten metal flows via a taphole into the trough, and then via a downstick into the mould. The taphole is pref. near the top of the furnace, and is pref. provided with a sliding stopper. Slag remains on the surface of the metal in the furnace, without entering the trough.
