PURPOSE:To prevent the leakage of thickness slip oscillation energy and to reduce equivalent resistance, by performing curved-surface polishing at the both ends in longitudinal direction of a rectangular plate quartz bar of AT-cut. CONSTITUTION:Both ends 1, 1' in longitudinal direction of a rectangular plate quartz bar 10 of AT-cut are processed with curved-surface processing so that the ends are thinner than the middle of the quartz. In this case, the processing is made only to one surface of the quartz plate. As a result, the oscillation energy can be enclosed effectively. In this case, the energy enclosing effect can be given in the ratio range of 1.06-1.83 for the length (l) of quartz plate and the length l0 not processed for curved-surface processing. |
