The machined wood panel (1) has one face covered by a system of borders (2) separated in width in the panel width direction by a space (4). This forms a visible face with hollow (3) and relief parts. The shape of the borders leads to partial covering of one by the adjacent one. This partial covering is also affected between the panels when they are assembled together to mask the joints. The border is in the shape of a shallow inverted T.
