Parent patent described a gas washer using at least two rows of staggered gutters aligned transversely w.r.t. the flow of gas. In this addn. the gutters are provided with pipes or similar devices through which a heat exchange medium is circulated. In the pref. gas washer, at least some of the gutters have a base formed by one or more pipes through which a liq. or gas heat exchange medium flows. The washer is pref. used in conjunction with a grain dryer, where fresh air is heated in flowing through the pipes and is then fed into the dryer. Improvements to the parent patent, so that heat can be reclaimed from the gas washers are provided.
