<p>The wind motor has each blade (1,2) connected to its shaft by a joint allowing three degrees of freedom. Each blade can terminate in a V-shape to allow flexing and the blade itself can be attached to the two legs of the V (3,4). The blades can carry levers (7) perpendicular to their axes extending from the leading edge, connected to a radial arm fixed to the central mast. The levers can each be connected to a governing centrifugal weight to vary the angle of attack with wind speed.</p> |
