The two-stroke engine comprises an orifice (12) for the intake of the new fuel mixture into the chamber (8) of the crankcase. The mixture compressed during the downwards travel of the piston (4) is accelerated into the grooves of the crankcase in order to be vaporised and brought, on the one hand, by two first ducts (33a, 33b) and two semicircular ducts (22a, 22b) and, on the other hand, by two second ducts (20, 21) towards the combustion chamber (6) by means of two radially opposite orifices (15). Since the cross-section of the ducts (20, 21) is larger, the new fuel mixture is slowed down and mixes intimately in the combustion chamber (6) with the residual burnt gas at high temperature, and smooth combustion takes place. An exhaust opening (16) makes it possible to discharge the gas to the atmosphere by means of an exhaust pipe (17). This engine has silent operation and reduced emission of harmful elements. <IMAGE>
