<p>A staple fibre cutter converts yarns or tows into fibres of a regular length. The yarn is fed into a recessed hole in a revolving circular plate, along a radial passage and through an opening on the edge of the plate. It is cut by a fixed blade set near to the plate edge. The cutter is adaptable to any fibre staple length, by varying the speed of the drum feeding the yarn or tow. The machine is simple and inexpensive and effects regular cuts at high speed.</p> |
