The grating (1) is fitted on a frame having a hollow structure and a generally cylindrical shape the cross-section of which corresponds, on the whole, to that of the grating (1) and comprises internal support means for supporting the grating (1) so that the upper surface of the latter is located substantially at the level of the road surface. The grating (1) consists of a multiplicity of bars (2) which are spaced apart and of a multiplicity of junction components (3); this grating (1) is made of a material and with a shape such that it is elastically compressible, which means that the energy stored in the grating (1) by such an elastic compression forces parts of the grating in service to be applied elastically against complementary parts of the frame.
