PURPOSE:To provide the titled resin compsn. having excellent impact resistance, etc., by mixing a terpolymer produced from alpha-methylstryrene, methyl methacrylate and acrylonitrile with a resin obtd. by graft-polymerizing styrene onto a diene rubber polymer. CONSTITUTION:A monomer mixture consisting of alpha-methylstyrene, methyl methactylate and acrylonitrile within the range of a composition surrounded by coordinate points A, B, C, D and E shown in Figure, is emulsion-polymerized to produce a terpolymer (A) 60-30pts.wt. monomer mixture consisting of 65-75wt% styrene and 35-25wt% acrylonitrile is graft-polymerized onto 40-70pts.wt. diene rubber polymer by emulsion polymn. to produce a graft copolymer (B). The terpolymer Ai mixed with the graft polymer B in such a proportion as to give 10-30wt% diene rubber copolymer in the resulting mixture, whereby the desired resin compsn. is obtd. The resulting compsn. has excellent heat stability during molding, impact resistance, etc., and is suitable for use as a material for automobile parts. |
