PURPOSE:To produce the titled steel sheet by a simplified process by a method wherein a slab of a ferritic stainless steel containing solAl is hot rolled to be a strip, thereafter the hot-rolled strip is wound and soaked at specified respective temperature, then it is cold rolled without conducting a hot-rolled strip annealing operation, and the resultant cold-rolled steel sheet is subjected to final annealing. CONSTITUTION:The slab of a ferritic stainless steel containing 0.08-0.5% of solAl is hot roled after heating it, for example, to 1,100 deg.C. In the hot rolling operation, the resultant hot-rolled strip is wound at a temperature of 800-1,000 deg.C and then it is soaked at a temperature of 800-1,000 deg.C for 1sec to 2hr. The soaking is conducted for a longer period of time as the soaking temperature is lower. The hot-rolled strip thus soaked is then cold rolled without conducting the hot-rolled strip annealing operation which has been indispensable to the prior art. Further, the resultant cold-rolled sheet is subjected to the final annealing i.e., recrystallization annealing. Accordingly, a ferritic stainless steel sheet having excellent workability is obtained. |
