METHOD FOR DRAW FORMING GLASS FIBRES

Improvement in manufg. glass fiber is described. In draw forming glass fibers by the existing drawing device which is composed of chip nozzle in its lower position and cooling pins among the arrays of the chip nozzle, the flow quantity of molten glass is increased to 0.5g/min by enlargement of the chip nozzle dia. and air flow is supplied along the chip nozzle arrays just before the start of spinning. Thus the productivity is sharpenly increased. In 2.15mm chip nozzle dia. flow quantity of molten glass was 600g/min and glass fiber in 10 dia. was drawn. At the same time air flow of 1.8m3/min flow quantity and 1.5m/sec velocity was supplied for 10 sec.
