The radial slide bearing with adjustable bearing clearance comprises a bearing housing (3) containing a co-axial bush (2) which carries the shaft (1). The housing bore is conical and the bush, whose outer surface is correspondingly tapered, is provided with an axial slot (7) and is axially adjustable (e.g. by 6) in the housing bore. The bush may be adjustable via a pressure ring (4) arranged at its larger diameter (a) end. It may be located against rotation by a radial pin (9) in the housing engaging an axial groove (8) in the bush.
