A vacuum brake booster for motor vehicles has a vacuum housing (1) comprising two sheet-metal housing shells (12, 13), which is divided by an axially movable wall (2) into a working chamber (3) and a vacuum chamber (4). For strengthening, beads (22, 23) are provided in the end walls (14, 15) of the vacuum housing (1). In order to prevent any impairment of the stroke of the movable wall (2) and to create a straight-line connection from the point of introduction of force in the end wall to a rigid area in the peripheral wall which is no longer subjected to a bending stress but to a tensile stress, the peripheral edge (2.1) of the movable wall (2) in the area of the beads (22, 23) has recesses or constrictions in an axial or radial direction and the beads (22, 23) each have a bead base (22.1, 23.1) which extends from an axial force introduction point (19, 20, 21) at an angle to the housing longitudinal axis essentially in a straight line up to a peripheral, radially reinforced force absorbing section (17) on the periphery of the housing. <IMAGE>
