While a motor vehicle is travelling, the time, the range and the quantity of fuel present in the fuel tank are indicated. When a first key of a key panel is actuated, signals appear which indicate the time which has past since the start of the journey, the average speed and the average fuel consumption. When a second key is actuated, the remaining distance until arrival and the quantity of fuel required for this remaining distance are indicated.
